THE ICEBERG: What is Italy? Some stereotypes about it.

What are stereotypes?

Where did these ideas come from?

Stereotypes are a set of pre-established ideas or beliefs about a social group, depending on their nationality, ethnicity, socioeconomic class, age, sex, profession or others. These ideas usually come from a superficial knowledge that we see in movies, series, television or others. And although they may contain part of the truth, in reality they offer a distorted view of reality.

Let's see what we have learned with an example of Mario in Italy:

Hello, be welcome to Mario’s home. This is Italy, you may know it for its delicious wine, or spaghetti with a little bit of bolognese and five tons of Parmesan cheese. Italians are known for other things like those romantic gondola rides and its Pizzas's tower or was Pisa Tower? I can't remember. By the way, they love pizza too. In this country everybody has mustaches and travel from dawn to dusk on their amazing and colorful vespas. They eat every morning a tasteful bread made at home and with the bread, the most delicious cheese than you have ever known. Be welcome to Italy.

If you wanna know more about that fabulous country, you can come here, to this fantastic blog, every week. We'll be here, waiting for you, arrivederci!
